The first Open Day about St Richard Reynolds Catholic College was held in the main hall at the RACC, Clifden Road. Two sessions had been planned, one about the primary school followed by one about the secondary school. Two extra sessions had to be run to accommodate over 1,000 people who attended the event. Parents, children and local residents were told about plans for the school and what it might be like for the first intake of children next September. The presentations were led by chairman, Andrew Cole, with contributions from Paul Barber and Josephine Lewis, the Director and Deputy Director of Education at The Diocese of Westminster. Parents and children also heard from Bishop Alan Hopes of Westminster and Bishop Paul Hendricks of Southwark. Emeritus Bishop Howard Tripp of Southwark and Mike Cullinane of the Southwark Education Commission were also in attendance joining local clergy and the head teachers of our six Catholic primary schools in Richmond Borough.
