Curriculum Intent Statement
The SRRCC English curriculum instills a love of language, literature and learning. We want to enthuse and engage our students to become literary explorers: supporting them to become critical thinkers, convincing communicators, perceptive readers and skilful writers.
We deliver a curriculum that is inclusive, relevant, rigorous and inspiring. We will provoke the innate curiosity of the students we teach, encouraging them to engage with challenging content and concepts that will be both enlightening and transformative for all. Our learning climate is the foundation of our students’ successes and empowers them to have ownership of their learning journey. They will be supported to understand the power of language and appreciate the way a narrative can open hearts and minds and challenge their perceptions of the world.
