Geography

Curriculum Intent Statement

All students at SRRCC will see themselves as geographers and thoughtful citizens who work towards the Common Good.

They are curious to know more about the world they live in, be mindful of their positionality in it and have the desire to create a more equal, sustainable society.

Our students will want to gain an awareness, an understanding and an empathy of the differences and diversity in our human and physical world.

They will become critical thinkers, questioning answers and information and continue to ask ‘Who, What, Why, When, Where and How’.

They will be empowered to make a positive change in the world. They will be inspired to see how we can move forward as a community, taking care of creation towards a sustainable future.

Geographers at SRRCC will……..

  • Be happy to take risks in their thinking and their work
  • Be inquisitive and feel safe to ask questions
  • Be able to find and discuss solutions to problems and questions
  • Be able to debate and understand different views, advantages and disadvantages of a given topic.
