Welcome to the Friends of St Richard Reynolds
The Friends of St Richard Reynolds is an association that supports our school by bringing together parents, carers, governors, staff and the community to raise money for the school and have some fun in the process.
Virtual Summer Balloon Race!
Up, up and away for the virtual balloon race. Here is the link to watch the race when it goes live at 12 pm today!
Track your balloons as they race!
You’ll be given a link so you can watch the virtual balloon race live over the summer.
You can even search for your own balloon and track its progress!
The winning virtual balloon is the one which has flown the furthest from launch by the end of the race.
To add to the fun, for every balloon you enter you’re in with the chance to win!
There will be prizes for balloons that travel the furthest for Primary, High School and the Teachers!
We hope you, your friends and family will join us for our first virtual fundraiser and help support our school in these unusual times.
From the Friends of St Richard Reynolds: 13th May 2020
We hope this finds everybody well and safe. In the absence of any FoSRR events or activities, we thought we’d try to bring together what SRRCC families have been doing during the lockdown so we can create a record of the challenges we face and how we’re all trying to cope in these unusual times.
What has worked for your family? Any homeschooling tips? Any tips for cooking, constant snacking or sourcing food items? Have you discovered a new family hobby? Have you experienced working on the front line or in a critical service? Are you volunteering or supporting those in need? Any new achievements (ran a new distance, baked something for the first time, joined an online choir)?
Anything we can put together could support our community as we look towards a longer term situation of distancing and isolation.
If you can, please send a few lines and perhaps a photo to firstname.lastname@example.org
The FoSRR Team
The Friends of Saint Richard Reynolds (FoSRR) is an association that aims to:
• support the Catholic ethos and values of the school;
• develop and further a community of individuals who are supportive of the school;
• advance the education of pupils in the school;
• encourage effective relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the College;
• have fun in the process.
All parents are automatically members and we welcome anyone in the local area and beyond who would like to support our school. The support of parents is vital to the success of a school and the support from parents, parishioners and many in the wider community who helped to establish this College.
Don’t forget to use Amazon Smile (smile.amazon.co.uk) and Easyfundraising.co.uk for all your online shopping. Search for Friends of Saint Richard Reynolds. The school receives a percentage of every purchase all year round and all of this goes towards supporting our children’s education.
Can you Help?
Our committee, led by our new Chair, Fiona Holton, are continuing to keep in touch as we prepare to take on the FoSRR reins from July. If you would like to join us in planning events and fundraising activities to support our school and it’s future then we would love to hear from you. All types of help and support are welcome and we know we have a hugely skilled and talented parent body.
We are particularly looking for a person (or a couple of people working together) to take on the role of Treasurer to keep the FoSRR finances in ship shape. Experience may be helpful but is not necessary as a full handover and support will be given. If you are interested in playing a part in supporting our children’s school we’d love to hear from you.
Please contact us at email@example.com
FoSRR has funded many initiatives to date, including library books, indoor rowing machines, portable stages, amongst many other items.
FoSRR also donated the proceeds from its flagship Summer Ball event directly to the sports hall fund tand intends to continue to do so, there are a number of further ideas we have to increase our fundraising, but we do need more volunteers to share the workload and improve the students' educational experiences even further. We have a committed bunch of primary and high school parents working on our events, but will always welcome new faces and ideas.
QUIZ NIGHT REPORT
Thank you to all the parents, governors, teachers, staff and friends who attended our Quiz Night in February. Over 150 of you packed into the school canteen where the bar was busy, the food was fabulous and competition was fierce amongst the quizzers. A huge thank you to all the parents who helped run the bar, serve the food and wash the dishes, to the Year 7 parents who organised a fantastic raffle, Imran and his team at the Sheesh Mahal in Twickenham for providing the food and to the school and staff for providing the facilities and supporting this event.
