Science

At St Richard Reynolds we believe that equipping our children with both scientific knowledge and skills is key to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.

Our carefully designed science curriculum is intended to spark our pupils’ curiosity in the world around them and help them develop skills in science as a process of inquiry. We have tailored our science curriculum to the children that attend St Richard Reynolds and created opportunities throughout the curriculum to enhance our children’s understanding of opportunities outside the classroom; to open up career prospects by sparking an interest and understanding of science. By the time our children leave St Richard Reynolds, they should be equipped with the scientific knowledge outlined in the National Curriculum in biology, chemistry and physics, as well as having a deep understanding of how to work scientifically in addition to being able to communicate their findings across a range of different methods including ICT, graphs and charts. Finally, and perhaps most fundamentally, we aim for all our children to leave St Richard Reynolds with a passion for and enjoyment of science.
