Our Catholic Community
Our mission to become closer to God and supporting our young people to become the person God created them to be is central to everything we do. We use Christ as our role
model for our interactions with each other and the wider community.
Our students engage with regular opportunities for prayer, attend our act of worship
assemblies once per week and Masses throughout the year. The Sixth Form students often take a leading role in our whole school acts of worship by leading prayer, reading from scripture, leading worship and sometimes acting as Eucharistic Ministers. We hold a Welcome Mass at the start of the Sixth Form journey and a Leavers’ Mass during which parents, staff and students reflect on all that our students have achieved academically, spiritually and personally during their time with us.

Service
All of our students find a Service opportunity within our community about which they can be
passionate and committed. They may act as a role model to other students in one of
our many instrumental groups, act as an academic mentor to other students, support
a member of our admin staff, run a sports team for Key Stage 3 students: there are
many many more roles, many of which our students create themselves.
Student Leadership Team
Some of our students serve our community through their role on our Student Leadership Team. They are appointed to these role because of their determination and
potential for making a positive contribution to the College community. According to
their own areas of interest they research, plan, organise and deliver a range of
projects over the course of their term in office in one of the following areas:
- College Parliament
- Mental Health
- Community
- Environment
- Performing Arts
- Sport
- Inclusion
Each of these projects is planned to deliver against one or more aspects of Catholic
Social Teaching as we know it is through this that we are able to change our own
community and therefore increase our potential to contribute to the world in which we
live.
We are very proud of the number of young people who are participating in
the Pope John Paul II Award as they contribute so much to our community and to
their own churches through engaging deeply and actively with their faith.
Retreats
We are proud to say that all of our students take part in a retreat during their time in Sixth Form. It allows them time to take themselves away from academic pressures and focus on themselves and their connection with God. The theme for our last retreat was selected by our students and focused on community; something our students value highly, particularly when times are difficult.
