Our Learning Philosophy – SRR10 & Brilliant Basics

At St Richard Reynolds Catholic College our core purpose is to provide outstanding learning and teaching for all students.  This is achieved in an environment that encourages, supports and develops the spiritual, intellectual, moral and physical development of the child.  We are committed to providing children with an inspiring academic experience which is  child-centered and academically rigorous. We foster an environment where students are loved, listened to, challenged and inspired. We are deeply committed to opening the hearts and minds of our young people towards God.  We achieve this through our religious education provision, which aligns with the Bishop’s Curriculum directory, but also through our whole College approach to living out Catholic Social Teaching principles.

Our broad curriculum encompasses a music specialism which enables our students to experience exceptional music provision and unparalleled experiences both within and beyond the classroom. We believe that our breadth of curriculum leads to memorable experiences across the College, outstanding examination results and preparation for a full Catholic life in the 21st Century.

We know that working as a team with parents delivers the best educational experience for all and therefore we work actively to engage our supportive parent community.

SRR10 & Brilliant Basics

The SRR10 and Brilliant Basics are a shorthand for the strategies we expect our teachers to use to plan and deliver outstanding teaching at SRRCC. They provide an outline for the everyday high quality interactions, teaching and processes that are our hallmark.  We believe that a consistently managed classroom environment, focusing on these strategies and getting them right, will enable great learning for our young people.
